Aum Namo Bhagavathe Shri Ramanaya!
The Spiritual Luncheon for elders and Ramana Devotees, held every 3rd Sunday of the month took place yesterday (17th December) at Saraswathy Illam – Ramanalayam. Despite the heavy rains, a sizeable group assembled and enthusiastically participated in the recitation of Ramana Akshara Manamalai, the Aaradhana and in the luncheon.
Dr M Jeyarajan spoke on the core teachings of Bhagavan; the afflictions of the mind being the primary source of all problems in life and the need to learn to remain in the Self, detached from likes and dislikes. Prof Balasubramaniam followed by speaking on total surrender as the means to overcome the age old vasanas (or impressions) that determine our behaviours. Invitation was extended to all to participate in Bhagavan’s Jayanthi Celebrations on the 28th.
Yesterday’s luncheon was sponsored by Mr Pahirathan Pooranalingam’s family (Canada) to celebrate the life and in memory of Dr K Pooranalingam, their father, and by Mr Arichandran (UK) in memory of his ‘Petthamma’ Kandiah Nagamma and his father Mr Vinasithamby. The proceedings came to a close at around 1:30 pm.
